I recently performed in my church's virtual Christmas Program, and thought I'd share the song here with all of you as well. Just a simple little home video, but this traditional English carol means a lot to me and I love singing it.

This has been one of my favorite Christmas songs (second only to Carol of the Bells) for as long as I can remember. It's such a haunting and contemplative melody, and I did my best to capture how it makes me feel in this little rendition of mine.
When I looked up the lyrics to learn them for this cover, I was surprised at how somber the message actually is! But I love songs that offer a closer perspective on people, and this one shows a very fearful, yet nurturing side of Mary.
