Can you send me the instrumental for this song?

I spend a lot of time creating the backing tracks for my songs, from simple piano to orchestration. I want to make sure my arrangements and vocals blend perfectly together for every piece, so I compose the instrumental to complement my voice specifically. While I realize not everyone has access to sound libraries and software to create instrumental tracks for themselves, I do not typically separate my vocals from my instrumentals and send them out to individuals.

Can I remix your vocals for an EDM version?

While I love dance remixes, I have to navigate copyright issues with this request. I work with a publishing company called Soundrop to ensure all copyrights for each of my releases are honored, and am wary of any release that does not compensate an artist for their creation. Even though I would love to hear a remix of my version of “Lullaby of Woe” or any other cover I’ve released, I cannot in good conscience give my consent for it.

Can I use your song for my book/play/school project/etc.?

This one highly depends on the situation. To honor copyrights, I cannot give consent to the use of any of my cover music for another creator’s commercial material (book promotions, video games, short films, etc.) If you are wanting to use an original song of mine for your commercial material, we can discuss the terms and royalties for that. If you are wanting to use any of my music (cover or original) for non-commercial material, I am usually happy to consent to that, provided the material is not published on another channel or website. I am especially happy to lend its use for school projects (dance routines, choir practice, etc.) If you have further questions, please message me with the specific details of your project and we can discuss possibilities.
